Do you struggle with tight hamstrings, sore knees or hips? Do you suffer from back pain or neck pain? Why do so much of us experience chronic pain? Most pain is foundational, resulting from imbalances in a musculoskeletal system that is not aligned. Explore an effective way to deal with these conditions through Yoga.
Guided by an expert bodyworker and yoga instructor with over 25 years in her field, learn how to use yoga to align the body by first identifying muscle imbalances that cause many painful conditions. By selecting the proper poses, to either stretch or strengthen targeted muscles, the body will start to come back into balance and out of pain.
Suitable for all levels, in this workshop we will learn to:
- Balance the pelvis, which is the foundation of the body structure
- Learn how to balance muscles for the most common painful areas
- Use yoga postures to balance muscles for various neuromuscular conditions
- Identify your own muscle imbalances and select correct poses to bring them into balance
- Practice self-care techniques to keep the mind, body, and emotions in balance
- Use these protocols off the mat and bring them into your day

In this workshop we will use Integrated Positional Therapy, yoga and exploring the brain~feet connection for increasing circulation tapping into a whole physical and subtle body balancing creating a life with more ease.
The body has an innate wisdom on it’s own to heal itself, and how we create space to allow for that all natural process is up to us. But in our culture we tend to not have the tools for easy, consistent self care.
Homeostasis refers to any process that living things use to actively maintain fairly stable conditions necessary for survival. This is what we are striving for… the way we move, how we nourish our bodies and create self care that allows the body to “run on idle”.
In this workshop we will use Integrated Positional Therapy, yoga and exploring the brain~feet connection for increasing circulation tapping into a whole physical and subtle body balancing creating a life with more ease.

As a society we believe that pain or “dis-ease” comes from aging or a stressful lifestyle and we just have to accept it, but what we really need is a better understanding of how the body works as a whole and learn easy consistent self-care so we can truly live pain free and happier.
In The Art of Self Care we will learn how to alleviate muscle imbalances, practice meditation for stress relief, take part in joyous breath work, explore ayurvedic self-care & embrace the fact that we as Massage Therapists can have a long, happy & healthy practice for many years with ease.
CHRISTINE BISSONNETTE, LMT, is a presenter & massage therapist at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and Optimum Health Therapeutic Massage and has lived a pain free life for all of her 18 years as a full time massage therapist specializing in relieving chronic pain.
